'30-In-30' Challenge Week 6 Update

Week number six is here and that means it's been a month and a half already on the "30-In-30" Low-Carb Weight Loss Challenge. ZOOM! This thing is flying by!

I was recollecting a couple of days ago about my first six weeks on low-carb back in 2004 and recall losing 50 pounds over that same time period. HA! Of course, when you weigh 410 pounds the weight does tend to pour off of your body in droves. :D

THANKS again to all of you who came or tried to come to my chat session on WeightLossBuddy.com last week. It was a lot of fun and we will definitely need to do it again in the near future.

Before I share this week's weight loss results with you (and I'm looking forward to hearing from many of you who decided to try Regina Wilshire's new omega-rich low-carb diet plan), let's first meet two of your fellow participants in the "30-In-30" Low-Carb Weight Loss Challenge:

1. Atkins Rules!

Rock on, baby, because Atkins rules! Yeah, it does! And so does a 44-year old paralegal from Ohio named Tracy who doesn't mind sharing openly about her experience on a low-carb diet. With her daughter living at home while attending college and attempting to do the low-carb thing with mom, Tracy is serious about doing the "30-In-30" Low-Carb Weight Loss Challenge and becoming that weight loss success she desires. YOU CAN DO IT, TRACY!!!

2. Move It! Shake It! Lose It! Low-Carb Style!

Oh the vigor and energy of youth (does that make me sound like an old man or what?!). But this 21-year old from San Diego, CA named Michelle has one of the most interesting blog pictures I think I've ever come across. As an accomplished photographer, she certainly shows off her talent in the most unique manner. She will no doubt have some stunning before and after photos when she becomes the big weight loss success on the "30-In-30" Low-Carb Weight Loss Challenge over the next few months. She posting her exercise and menu plans to show others what she is doing to lose weight and, just as important, inches! Keep at it, Michelle, and let your success be a shining example for others to see.

Enough with the chit-chat already, right? I know you want to know how I did on the second week of my omega diet plan? Do ya, do ya? After last week's phenomenal 6.5-pound weight loss, the expectations I had were that I would probably not lose much weight if any this week.

So here were the results:

Another THREE POUNDS lost!!! Now I'm almost halfway to my goal of losing 30 pounds in 30 weeks--AFTER ONLY SIX WEEKS!!! Oh my goodness, this is remarkable! And best of all is that I feel so fantastic, energetic and motivated to keep on livin' la vida low-carb like never before. My pants are even starting to get looser and I went up another notch on my belt. WOO HOO!

I know the weight loss will slow down again fairly soon and I'm certainly prepared for that. But I am thrilled to know that my weight is coming down and I'm doing something proactive to make my health even better than it already is.

Does anyone else have some good news to share about their weight loss this week? Awww, come on, don't be modest...DO TELL, DO TELL! Even if your week didn't go so great, we still want to hear from you, too. Don't forget we are all in this together so let us hear from you, okay? I promise not to bite...too hard! :D

Who's gonna be the first to share this week?

Comments:
Didn't lose anything this week, but ever the optimist, I am tweaking ala Jummy and Regina and hoping for the best.

We'll see next week whether the tweaking works for me.

By the way, I have been trying to reply to some of the other blogs, but a few of them won't let me respond -- mostly they are Blogger sites. Any idea why?

Hi Jimmy-
Way to go! That's wonderful! I'm sending you an email high-fiver!!!!

I am finally weighing in on Tuesday of this week. I did pretty good even though I cheated on Saturday at the big OSU vs. Texas game. I had some pizza, cookies and some brats with a roll. OOOOhhh, bad girl. But, I still did well, as I worked really hard this weekend for a rabbit show on sunday. I did alot of moving around and heavy lifting. I did manage to lose weight anyhow (go figure). I am down to 203 - YEAH!!!! I got right back on it on monday. I did post a win on the tables with one of my Junior Bucks, which made me pretty happy too! This is a very busy month for me and October promises no slow downs. I will be keeping up with you and all the weight loss challenge participants. Keep up the great work!!!
Mo

Congrats on the great job, Mo! YOU KEEP IT UP!!!

Kathy, your time is coming. Be patient (oooh, that's a dirty word, isn't it?).

As for Blogger problems, it probably has to do with their new Beta update that is still in progress. They hope to have them completed soon, but I've had the same problems.

The changes they have made have been pretty good, so it should be worth the wait. Take care!

Jimmy

I'm weighing in with a 2 pound loss for a total of 12 gone in 6 weeks. I'm very happy with that and I'm at my lowest weight in many years. I did add the omega-3 stuff, but I think I ate larger portions as well as some cheese so I didn't quite see that big woosh. Maybe next week.

Good job, everybody!

WAY TO GO, Hike2Health!

I lost 1.5 lbs in the last 2 weeks, giving me 10 lbs total since I joined the challenge on 8/14.

I am more than happy with that, the way the last 2 weeks have been, and in the middle of my TOM on top of everything!

You get 'em, Vic!!! :D

I decided to go low-calorie for a while and finally saw a loss. I think I've been plateaued and my body was used to the number of calorie I ate.

Anyway, down 1.6 finally to 146 even.

GREAT JOB, Newbirth! If eating a low-cal/low-carb diet works for you, then GO FOR IT! :)

Jimmy

Congratulations, Jimmy!

I slid back from 228 to 231 this morning. Maybe too much salt in that salami I ate yesterday. I am not discouraged!

I lost 1/2 pound this week but my pants are starting to get really loose!!!!! Considering I was on my way to buy the next size(which I was wasn't going there!) I am happy.
Congrats to everyone!

BTW I am having the same problem with the blogs..........

Wanda

Keep your head held high, Gary! You're doing great! Don't let a bad week knock you off course.

WOO HOO, Wanda! You're moving in the right direction so DON'T GIVE UP!

I'm so proud of everyone!!!

Anyone else do the omega diet and see results?

weeee! go jimmy go jimmy its your birthday get busy...haha

as for me..
i lost 2 pounds this week so altogether i have lost 18 pounds since 8/16!

congrats to everyone who lost this week and for those that didnt its okay you will next week!

<3
Michelle

I'm proud of you, Michelle!!! You keep at it and you WILL be a great success! THANKS for sharing!

I'm down 1.5 from last week, but still up 2 from when I started the challenge. Hmm...could be better, could be worse. I started CLA and chromium picolinate the middle of this week. I was already taking omega 3.We'll see if this will make any difference.

Keep me informed, diamondwife! It seems you are going down again now. :)

Well done everyone!
I lost 2.2 pounds on this weeks lowcarb/omaga-diet and i´m starting to reslly fell the difference in my body =) My pants try to fall off ;-) After calculating my numbers from the metric system to pounds, my total loss on this challenge is 10.2 pounds =)

That's AWESOME, sockerpinglan! Keep inspiring us with your success!

I joined your 30-30 Challenge almost two weeks ago. Eating induction, losing weight (5 lbs.), but constantly hungry! Any suggestions?

Eat more protein and fat, Ree. You'll NEVER be hungry.

What Jimmy said, Ree. A few of us have to count calories, but you should always try low-carb without counting and see if you lose. The protein and fat should help fill you up and keep you full longer than carbs every could.

I've continued to lose all week. Hopefully some of that loss will hold until next Tuesday. The weekend is always my undoing.

I was 146 Tuesday and 143.4 today. :)

I'll continue low-calorie for no more more than another week, tops, because I hate going hungry. But this weight just won't come off any other way. Of course I am low-carbing as well. Carbs and me just don't get along and I can't imagine eating any other way.

GREAT PLAN, Newbirth! I admire your commitment to what works for you and cheer you on to success. YOU'RE DOING AWESOME!!!

Holy cow, I just lost three pounds this week! I haven't resumed my exercise regimen yet, but going back to work full-time has definitely kept me out of the fridge. I look at what I eat now (quantity, that is) compared to what I used to eat, and I can see why I haven't lost more quickly. Plus, my son is partially weaned now, so I'm hoping my hormones are getting back to normal and fat-burning is on the rise. I'm just so glad to see that scale jump! I don't think I've lost that much in a week since I started back on LC almost a year ago!
